The Basics
What is a soft wash system?
Soft washing cleans delicate exterior surfaces — roofs, cladding, render, plaster, fences and painted surfaces — at low pressure, letting the cleaning solution do the work instead of blasting them with high-pressure water.
The heart of a proper soft wash system is being able to apply a higher-strength cleaning solution at low pressure. You can "soft wash" with a pressure washer by drawing chemical through a downstream injector — but that dilutes it, so you're applying a weaker mix. A dedicated soft wash system pumps your pre-mixed batch straight from the tank at low pressure, so you apply it at the strength the job actually needs. Add a blend manifold and you can adjust that strength on the fly — dialling in stock chemical and water together at the turn of a dial, rather than pre-mixing a batch.
A soft wash system is the equipment that makes that possible: a low-pressure, high-volume pump (often 12V) fed from a batch tank, the tank and mixing to hold your solution, and a hose reel, lance and nozzles to apply it safely and evenly. Get it right and you clean faster and safer; get it wrong and you waste product or burn out gear that was never rated for the job. What's the difference between a soft wash system and a pressure washer?
A pressure washer delivers high pressure to blast hard surfaces like concrete and pavers. A soft wash system applies a higher-strength cleaning solution at low pressure and lets the chemical do the work, so it safely cleans delicate surfaces such as roofs, cladding and render. You can also "soft wash" with a pressure washer using a downstream injector, but that dilutes the mix — a dedicated system applies it at full strength. Many operators run both, and we supply equipment for each.
